Cosmetic Botulinum Toxin-Xeomin/ Botox

Botox is the trade name for a substance called Botulinum Toxin type A.  This substance can also be referred to as a neuromodulator or wrinkle-relaxer, trade names such as Botox/Xeomin/Dysport.  In small doses, this injected substance works by temporarily preventing muscles from contracting, thus, reducing muscle activity that causes persistent lines to form on the face and neck.  This treatment is a low discomfort, non-surgical procedure and should be administered by a qualified healthcare professional.

Medical Botox

Cosmetic Dermal Filler

Dermal fillers are primarily used in the face to replace lost volume. As we age we lose volume in the fat pads of the face that in the younger face offer support and structure. Coupled with gravity everything shifts downward and forward. We tend to lose volume in the mid face, temples and in front of the ears first. This loss in volume and shift is responsible for the deeper folds that run from our nose to the outer corner of the mouth (nasolabial folds), jowels and loss in shape and structure around the jaw. Wrinkles form around the mouth (smokers lines) and the under eye area will start to darken and sag. We also experience a natural loss in collagen which causes our skin to sag and a decrease in the ability for the skin to bounce back.

IPL (intense pulse light) photorejuvenation

IPL stands for intense pulse light. It’s a type of light therapy used to treat wrinkles, spots, and unwanted hair. IPL releases light of many different wavelengths, like a photo flash. IPL penetrates down to the second layer of your skin (dermis) without harming the top layer (epidermis), so it causes less damage to your skin and no downtime. Pigment cells in your skin absorb the light energy, which is converted into heat. The heat destroys the unwanted pigment to clear up sun spots or freckles leaving a more even skin tone. IPL is effective for brown spots/sun damage, rosacea/facial redness, freckles, broken facial capillaries and visible nose veins.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the non-surgical treatment of spider veins, which are smaller veins that are easily visible through the skin. A solution is injected into the veins, causing them to fade and eventually disappear. The injection of a sterile solution, generally a salt solution, directly into the vein causes irritation to the lining of the blood vessel scaring and collapsing of the vein. The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into the skin causing it to fade from view. During this process blood is rerouted through another vessel. Spider veins typically fade within a few weeks to a month.
